Gibson explains now the was the right time for a reality series, because "everyone has become so desensitized to the process." Gibson says people expect great art immediately and don't realize how much work actually goes into it.

She has grown up in the entertainment industry alongside Sean "Puffy" Combs, a frequent collaborator.
