*By Conor White* Allure magazine has more Asian women on the covers of this month's issue than it's had in its entire history. "In 28 years, and more than 300 covers, there had only been two Asian women on the cover," said the magazine's editor-in-chief, Michelle Lee. "So I said, 'We have to fix that.'" Allure's June issue has three different covers, featuring a different Asian model on each. They are the first Asian women to appear on the cover since [Olivia Munn in 2014](https://www.allure.com/gallery/olivia-munn). Lucy Liu was the first, [in 2000](https://www.amazon.com/Allure-Magazine-November-2000-Lucy/dp/B00TBRLGL0). Lee said she has made diversity a priority in her two years in charge of Allure. Last year, she put a model wearing a hijab on the cover for the first time and featured the actress Helen Mirren, who is 72, to counter the prevalence of "anti-aging" pronouncements in women's magazines. "I think when you look at a lot of shoots out in the world, whether they're ads or editorial, you see a lot of groups of ten people, and then there's the one person of color," said Lee. "I think that for us, and just in general not even just at Allure, I feel like for society to move forward with diversity, I feel like it's really important for us to look at diversity as something that just comes naturally, and is not necessarily just throwing in the one token person."
