Not sure how much to tip your mailman or doorman this holiday season? Miriam Cross, Staff Writer at Kiplinger, joins Your Cheddar to break down the tipping protocols for all the people in your life.
Cross says the average amount to tip your mailman is around $20, and the average for your doorman is $25-$100. She also suggests tipping other people you may not be thinking about: personal trainer, dog groomer, cleaning person, etc.
Now if you can't afford to tip all of the above people, Cross says you can offer homebaked goods or a glowing recommendation to their managers. She says a nice gesture will go a long way and maybe you can work on budgeting for next year's round of tipping.
