As of Monday morning, Jenkins says the Electronic Software Association hadn't received an invitation to a meeting set for Thursday. Jenkins explains video games have been blamed for violent crime going back to Columbine, despite there being no direct link.
Jenkins also touches on Twitch's new user guidelines which will more strictly enforce anti-hate speech and harassment rules. Jenkins says the new rules will allow Twitch to ban users with more uniformity.
Amid a backdrop of ongoing tariff uncertainty, more and more gamers are facing price hikes. Apple CEO Tim Cook said Thursday that the majority of iPhones sold in the U.S. in the current fiscal quarter will be sourced from India, while iPads and other devices will come from Vietnam as the company works to avoid the impact of President Trump’s tariffs on its business.
