For Star Wars fans and superhero buffs it's going to be a great 2018 at the box office. Sean O'Connell, Managing Director at Cinemablend, joins Cheddar to countdown his top 5 picks for must-see movies next year.
His number one pick: "Avenger: Infinity Wars." Marvel has done the impossible and united the Avengers with Guardians of the Galaxy. He expects the movie to bring in massive audiences for Marvel. O'Connell is also excited for "Deadpool 2", "Solo: A Star Wars Story", "Mary Poppins Returns" and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."
However, you may end up paying more to go see those movies. AMC is thinking of changing seat prices depending on where you sit. O'Connell says this will just increase movie prices for the viewer.
Hollywood closed out an up and down 2023 with “Wonka” regaining No. 1 at the box office, strong sales for “The Color Purple” and an overall $9 billion in ticket sales that improved on 2022’s grosses but fell about $2 billion shy of pre-pandemic norms.
2024 is the Year of the Dragon for the Lunar New Year, which kicks off February 10. To commemorate the occasion, the U.S. Post Office unveiled a new dragon stamp.
