Lee Billings, space and physics editor for Scientific American, discusses the financials behind the Falcon Heavy. SpaceX successfully launched the rocket from Kennedy Space Center earlier this week. Billings explains a Falcon Heavy rocket will be surprisingly cheap to purchase, with a price tag of around $90 million. That's less than 20% what the Delta IV Heavy rocket cost. Part of the reason it's supposed to be so cheap is that it will be largely reusable. SpaceX says there's no decrease in quality with a rocket that has been used before.
