Vain says last night's event showed "progress but only up until a certain point." In a year where conversation surrounding #metoo, #timesup, and racial inequality is in the spotlight Vain says the award show was a "miss-step."
"A lot of times they vote for things they are familiar with," said Vain on the Recording Academy's voters. "They vote for the stuff that they know."
