This year, the Golden Globes focused on the fight against sexual harassment. The new "time's up" movement made its debut with actors dressing in all black, standing in solidarity with survivors of sexual harassment. Some of the biggest highlights from the ceremony included Oprah inspiring speech, which led to multiple standing ovations. The media mogul is the first black woman to win the Cecil B. DeMille award for Lifetime Achievement. It was a big night for streaming platforms, including Hulu, Netflix and Amazon were big winners of the night. Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" won best TV drama, and star Elisabeth Moss won for Best Actress in a Drama. Amazon's series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" took home the award for Best TV Comedy or Musical, and Rachel Brosnahan won for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical. Netflix brought home one award that went to Aziz Ansari for his role in "Master of None." Sunday night was also the first time you could stream the awards on NBC instead of having to tune into traditional cable.

Inflation is driving a return to the gig economy, according to a new survey from Branch & Marqeta that found 85 percent of workers have increased or planned to increase their amount of gig work in the past six months, with 58 percent citing inflation as the reason behind this change. Arun Sundararajan, professor at NYU Stern School of Business, breaks down this dynamic and how it's impacting the broader economy. "Inflation is rampant and people need more money. Salaried wages haven't kept up. Plus the labor market is tight. People can't find full time employees, employers can't find full time employees, and so some people are being opportunistic," he said. "And I also think there's a COVID effect because people have gotten used to more flexibility and time and space because people have gotten used to more flexibility and time and space, through the months of the lockdown."
