During peak season you want to make sure you're focused on the house, not the owner. Don't get hung up on whether the home is a foreclosure, a short sale or a traditional sale. Concentrate on the location and look for homes that meet your basic requirements. Plus, be prepared to pay the listing price . Ask your agent to show you a list of comparable sales to determine the home's actual value. If you are getting the home you want at a price you can afford, whether you pay a little more or less, doesn't matter in the big picture.
