Secret Memo Showdown Between Rep. Adam Schiff and Rep. Devin Nunes
More drama is unfolding around the Nunes memo which allegedly criticizes the FBI's handling of the Russia Investigation. Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) tweeted that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) made changes to the memo he sent to the White House without getting those changes approved by Congress.
Mother Jones' Ben Dreyfuss discusses whether this development could prevent the president from releasing the memo. On Tuesday the president was overheard saying he'll "100%" release the memo.
U.S. weekly jobless claims rose to 362,000 for the week ending September 25th, higher than the 335,000 economists had expected. Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been found guilty of illegal campaign financing linked to his 2012 bid for reelection after $54 million was spent on fake invoices. Sarkozy was sentenced to one year in prison.
The Senate passed a stopgap funding bill that will finance the government through December 3. The bill now moves onto the House where it is expected to pass as well.
