Previewing President Trump's Trip To The World Economic Forum In Davos
President Trump is jetting off to Davos, Switzerland, this week to attend the World Economic Forum. He is set to meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, among many other world leaders.
OZY.com Reporter Nick Fouriezos takes a look at the president's goals for the trip. He'll be the first sitting president to attend the forum in almost two decades.
President Trump isn't traveling alone. At least six of his cabinet members will be heading to Davos as well. Fouriezos also points out that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy is slated to attend the forum. He is one of the lead negotiators on immigration reform, which could set back discussions on the future of DACA and the Dreamers.
The leader of Hamas said that a truce agreement is close and would reportedly include a multi-day ceasefire and the release of at least 50 hostages in exchange for Palestinian women and children detained in Israel.
A federal appeals court appeared inclined Monday to reimpose at least some restrictions on Donald Trump’s speech in his landmark election subversion case.
Three debates for next year’s presidential general election are set to be held in college towns in Texas, Virginia and Utah between Sept. 16 and Oct. 9.
