Foo Fighters frontman David Grohl took a second from chopping it up with his bandmates to chopping up barbecue for the homeless.
As southern California was pummeled with extreme winter weather last week, Grohl was in the process of preparing a massive meal for the Hope the Mission Trebek Center in Northridge, a suburb of Los Angeles.
He apparently spent more than 24 hours at the shelter and meticulously worked to prepare pounds of brisket, ribs, and even made some sides that fed more than 450 people.
"He actually served to our guests, he came out and was very gracious and took pictures with the people that recognized him," Grace Ancheta, director of development at the Hope Mission, told TODAY.
St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter joked in a tweet on Saturday that there would be no fine. The library, like many across the country, stopped charging late fees in 2019.
