On a Positive Note: New York Man Serenades Hospital Staff After Life-Saving Intervention

In this segment of On a Positive Note, Allen Gogarty, a Queens, New York man, used his musical talents to say thank you to hospital staff. Gogaraty suffered a heart attack but was saved -- not once, but twice. He felt the need to pay them back and after recovery, whipped out his guitar and took it back to Irish folk rock roots. "The gift of life has been handed back to me and its something that we take for granted, that I won't ever take for granted again," he said.
Luke G. Boyd, director of education and public programs of Historic Richmond Town, spoke with Cheddar News about Voorlezer's House in Staten Island, NY, the site of one of the oldest schoolhouses in the country. The historic building, which was built around the 1700s, and Boyd explained the history behind the schoolhouse.
