Nick Cannon’s 98-year-old great-grandmother wasn’t pleased with the subject matter of the entertainer’s recent work.
So the actor and singer was inspired to create “Motivation,” an ode to empowering women.
“She was just saying, ‘The grandson that I helped raise, that speaks volumes about women and empowerment and inspiration, I don’t hear that in his music,’” Cannon told Cheddar Tuesday. “I wanted to make a song that my daughter could enjoy and embrace.”
Corinne Cannon, appears in Cannon’s [five minute video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNw82MXFa0g) for the song “Motivation.” In the video, released March 1st, women between the ages 80 to 98 years old share wisdom they’d like to past down to younger women.
