New York Expands Regulations for Adult-Use Marijuana Dispensaries
The slow growing market for adult-use recreational marijuana in New York has pushed a new set of regulations aimed at accelerating the industry but the plan is being admonished by many. Under the approved measures, the state will dole out 50 additional adult-use retail dispensaries and medicinal establishments looking to expand their offerings will have to pay $20 million to enter the adult-use market.
Some doctors say the drug should be held for three weeks before sedation to accommodate the delayed emptying of the stomach, which can cause patients to inhale food and liquid into their lungs.
