Here are the headlines you Need2Know for Tuesday, July 14, 2020:

COVID-19: CALI IN FOCUS: California is rolling back its re-opening: by order of the governor, most indoor places where people gather will be forced to close as the state’s coronavirus caseload rises. California's two largest school districts announced they’d be online-only for at least the fall. Meanwhile, a stifling heat wave in the South, stretching from Southern California to the Florida Panhandle, has officials worried that more people seeking relief indoors will lead to new outbreaks. LA TIMES

CATCHING COVID TWICE? One of the big outstanding questions related to the coronavirus is how long you remain immune once you’ve been infected. A new study in the UK (not yet peer reviewed) suggests that people’s immunity to the virus may recede within months, and that the body’s naturally produced antibodies only provide a temporary level of protection against reinfection. That would align with numerous reports of doctors seeing patients who got infected, recovered, and then got reinfected. AFP

INTRODUCING THE WASHINGTON...Washington’s NFL team will have a new name when the 2020 season starts -- but no one knows what it is yet. Bowing to pressure from sponsors like FedEx, which owns the naming rights to the team’s stadium, the owner has decided to retire the current name after years of saying he would never do so. According to bookmakers, the odds-on favorite for the new name is the Red Tails, a nod to the Tuskegee Airmen. WASH POST

GHISLAINE MAXWELL ARRAIGNMENT: Ghislaine Maxwell will go (virtually) before a judge today, the first court appearance for the former Jeffrey Epstein associate since she was arrested in a dramatic raid earlier this month. Prosecutors are urging the judge to reject Maxwell’s request for home confinement, arguing that she is the textbook definition of a flight risk. When the FBI located Maxwell in New Hampshire, she was reportedly carrying a cell phone wrapped in tin foil to evade detection. CNN

That’s ridiculous. Everyone knows you're supposed to wear the tin foil on your head.

MISSIONS TO MARS: If all goes according to plan, by this time next month there will be three spacecraft en route to Mars. The U.S., United Arab Emirates and China are each planning separate unmanned missions to the Red Planet in the coming weeks. NASA is prepping the launch of Perseverance, a car-sized rover that will join the other two vehicles already cruising around the planet. China is sending up a rover as well, and the U.A.E. is launching a weather station. Only the U.S. has successfully put a spacecraft on Mars. AP

MACBOOK CAMERA COVERS: As laptop camera covers have become popular low-tech ways for users to ensure their webcams aren’t being hacked, while still having easy access for video calls, Apple is warning owners of MacBooks to be careful not to close their laptops with the camera covered. The bezel on the new MacBooks is so thin that a cover could end up cracking the screen when the computer is closed shut. Users are told to only use a covering about the width of a Post-It note, or to remove it altogether. ZDNET

Coming soon from Apple: A $49 Post-It note.

DESEAN JACKSON UPDATE: Philadelphia Eagles star DeSean Jackson has accepted an invitation to visit Auschwitz with a Holocaust survivor. Edward Mosberg, 94, invited Jackson to tour the concentration camp’s hallowed grounds after Jackson sparked outrage by posting quotes wrongly attributed to Hitler on his Instagram. On a Zoom call with Mosberg, the wide receiver said he never had much interaction with Jewish people growing up, and didn’t intend to cause pain with his posts. JERUSALEM POST

NAYA RIVERA'S BODY FOUND: The body of Naya Rivera has been found and positively identified based on location and physical characteristics, according to police. The 33-year-old Glee actress disappeared while boating with her young son last week, sparking a huge search operation in and around Lake Piru in California. Officials say they believe she used her last bit of strength to get her son back onto the boat before she drowned. KNBC

'MYTHBUSTERS' CO-HOST DEAD: Grant Imahara, who co-hosted Mythbusters on Discovery and White Rabbit Project on Netflix, has died of an apparent brain aneurysm at 49. Imahara was an electrical engineer and roboticist by trade, and worked on the special effects for The Matrix sequels, Star Wars prequels, among others. THR

LEFTOVERS: OLDIES BUT GOODIES: Residents of a nursing home in England have been passing the time in quarantine by recreating some iconic album covers, from Bruce Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A., to Adele’s 21. The entertainment manager at the Sydmar Lodge Care Home outside London shared a sampling of the best ones on Twitter: SEE IT

Hoping they passed on Jimi Hendrix's cover for Electric Ladyland (Google it).
