Melissa Joan Hart, known to many as “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Clarissa Explains it All,” joined Cheddar to discuss her latest holiday movie. During the interview, Melissa chimed in on her experiences as a teenage actress in Hollywood, in light of all of the sexual harassment allegations that have recently plagued the industry. While many weren’t as fortunate as Hart, she says that having her mother as a producer for her films was a huge advantage and one of the things that might have shielded her from potential abusers. The actress considers herself lucky. “During my Nickelodeon years, I guess looking back I was really lucky, to be alone by myself in Orlando for four years really doing ‘Clarissa,’” she said. On a brighter note, Hart is starring in a new Lifetime movie alongside actor Mario Lopez. “A Very Merry Toy Store” is a Christmas-inspired movie that premieres on November 26. “It’s so much fun to be able to do these,” Hart said, adding that it allows people to celebrate the holidays all year long. “We’re shooting these in like July or January.”
