Actress Lauren Lapkus has had roles in some of Hollywood’s biggest projects, such as Orange Is the New Black and the hit comedy The Big Bang Theory. Now she is taking the spotlight with a lead role in Netflix’s newest original comedy film The Wrong Missy starring alongside actor David Spade.
Lapkus, it turns out, was a big fan of Spade's long before this latest project came along. “I truly have loved him forever. I think he’s one of the funniest people ever, so it was really a dream come true to get to perform with him,” she told Cheddar.
No stranger to the comedy world, Lapkus has multiple credits to her name as well as a plethora of podcasts under her belt. “This is my dream kind of role. As an improviser, I’ve been doing comedy for 15 years, and this is exactly the type of thing I’ve always wanted to do,” she said when asked about what drew her to the project.
The comedienne also discussed her podcast with fellow funny lady Nicole Byer called Newcomers where they sit down and watch Star Wars for the first time in their lives. Spoiler: they loved it and it seems to have inspired her next career move.
"If there's any chance we could have any role on these movies, even as, like a Storm Trooper in a mask I think we'd be thrilled," she said.
