It's a Bird, It's a Plane, No... It's a Super Blue Blood Moon

When you wake up Wednesday morning you may catch a rare surprise. The super blue blood moon will be crossing over North America in the early morning hours. Laura Geggel, senior writer at Live Science, explains where the long and wordy name comes from. Blue moon is a term to describe the second full moon within a single month. A blood moon happens during a lunar eclipse when red light is scattered through the Earth's atmosphere and reflects off of the moon.
