Mike Cernovich may be emerging as the new Bannon in the alt-right movement. Vanity Fair's Tina Nguyen discusses his political strategy and how badly Bannon is perceived among the alt-right these days.
Nguyen talks about Cernovich's motivation behind his theories. She says he is not foreign policy-minded and likes to just attack liberal ideology. He's also against most media outlets, even though he just put in a bid for Gawker.com.
Despite his less-than-popular views, could he continue to gain popularity? Nguyen said in her conversation with him about buying Gawker he said, it "would be fun to own Gawker properties." She believes that was more as a taunt to the writers. But overall, she does believe he could continue to gain followers.
President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladmir Putin are expected to have another conversation surrounding escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Ariel Cohen, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, joined Cheddar's Ken Buffa to discuss the ongoing tensions and why Putin's request for a conversation with Biden comes now. "This is very serious. This is the worst security crisis we had since the collapse of the Soviet Union," Cohen told Cheddar.

She noted that while a cannabis legalization and decriminalization bill was introduced in Congress this year, potential FDA involvement in the industry, as well as a 25 percent excise tax, killed any chance the bill had of moving forward. Aiello also speculated that some form of cannabis reform could be rolled out in 2022, as the midterm elections draw closer.
