Actress Frances McDormand earned an Oscar for Best Actress in a leading role, and during her speech she emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion. "At this point I think this was a good show to look forward," says Hasty. "It creates a new energy."
McDormand specifically called for more people in entertainment to push for an "inclusion rider" which would lead to people including diversity requirements in contracts.
