Netflix Slashes Prices

Netflix is still planning to charge users for sharing passwords in the coming weeks but the streaming giant is set to lower service prices for millions of customers. Unfortunately for U.S. users, the price drop won't apply, but the monthly subscription will come down between 20 and 60 percent for customers in more than 30 other countries, including some in the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe. The move comes as other streaming platforms look for ways to increase subscriptions and revenue.

Marvel Studios' Success

Is the writing on the wall for Disney and Marvel Studios? If you're solely assessing success based on box office figures, then the answer is no. But if you take a look at audience and critical reception, then maybe there is something to the idea that the MCU is losing some of its caché. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania raked in $120 million during its four-day opening weekend but only received a B CinemaScore from viewers. Four of the studio's recent projects have also received similar scores, including Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Quantumania only scored 48 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer, just about equal to critical reviews of the 2021 release Eternals

Ernie Hudson on 'Ghostbusters'

Ghostbusters is a certified classic and has stood the test of time as evidenced by its resurgence in the 2016 and 2021 remake and reboot, but for one cast member the experience was unforgettable for other reasons. Speaking with SiriusXM’s Gary Dell’Abate and Rahsaan Rogers on The Howard Stern Wrap Up Show, actor Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the 1984 film, said the studio made his filming experience difficult. "It wasn’t an easy road. Ghostbusters, I would say, it was probably the most difficult movie I ever did just from the psychological perspective,” he said. Hudson noted that he was brought on to join the cast in the middle of filming and that studio executives were not very welcoming.
