Jonathan Majors received a standing ovation for his role in Magazine Dreams. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, which is set to wrap up next weekend. The movie follows the life of bodybuilder Killian Maddox who struggled with mental and physical health issues as a result of steroid use. Majors is also set to star in two other major releases this year in Creed III and Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Avatar's Historic Run
Avatar: The Way of Water continues to make good on its pre-release hype as it marks the sixth straight week at number one. It's also the sixth highest-grossing film in history with more than $2 billion taken in. The last movie to lead at the box office for six consecutive weeks was the original Avatar, which was released in 2009. Titanic remains undefeated with 15 straight weeks at top spot, and all three films were directed by James Cameron.
Beyoncé in Dubai
Beyoncé returned to the stage for the first time in nearly three years. The singer performed at Dubai's Atlantis The Royal resort grand opening over the weekend. The private event was limited to 1,000 attendees and guests were even treated to a surprise performance that featured Beyoncé alongside her daughter Blue Ivy. Beyoncé announced that she will be touring his year but dates have not been released.
Tech apprenticeship platform Multiverse became a unicorn with a $1.7 billion valuation, after raising $220 million in a Series D round. As companies across the country face challenges in hiring and retaining tech talent, Multiverse says it's trying to offer a solution with a new way to train and hire workers that can serve as an alternative to college and corporate training. Cheddar's Kristen Scholer caught up with all-time NBA great Shaquille O'Neal in his hometown of Newark, NJ, working with Icy Hot to repair rundown basketball courts around the country. The Hall of Famer also spoke about the current NBA finals between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors and had a lot of praise for the Warrior's guard Stephen Curry.
