How Mitipi is Reinventing Home Security with Virtual Roommate "Kevin"
This week Mitipi launched a Kickstarter campaign for its virtual roommate device "Kevin." In just 19 hours the company met its goal of $50,000 in funding. Mitipi's Founder and CEO Julian Stylianou explains why he thinks this device will reinvent smart home technology, and security.
"We have a new angle, we are doing smart security differently than anybody else," said Stylianou. He explains this product leverages audio and light effects to deter burglars from entering homes.
Stylianou says he hopes to bring this product to consumers in late 2018, and it will cost around $300-$400.

CEO Ryan Martin joined Cheddar's Opening Bell to discuss what the IPO means to the company and how he thinks digital manufacturing can help mitigate supply chain issues seen throughout the pandemic. "We can take parts that would take 4-6 weeks condense that down into just days using additive manufacturing in many cases. And so it's all about speed," he said.
Apple has revealed that the tech giant is working more on going green, reporting the use of more recycled materials than ever before. It's setting sustainability goals, aiming to cut emissions by 75 percent in the next 10 years and eventually ending the use of plastic in packaging.
