Lisa Price turned a household hobby into a beauty empire with her company Carol's Daughter. She joins Cheddar to discuss how she did it. Over the past 25 years, the brand has become one of the biggest names in black hair care. Price sold Carol's Daughter to L'Oreal in 2014. She describes the backlash from those in the African American community who claimed she was selling out. Price explains how she coped with the adversity. The founder discusses the moment when she knew she'd made it. She says meeting Oprah for the first time was a sign she'd arrived on a larger stage. Since then, she's seen her work be featured in the National Museum of African American History.
