The holiday shopping season in full force, and many are filling their shopping carts with trips rather than toys. Leigh Barnes, North American Director at adventure travel company Intrepid Group, joined to share the top holiday travel trends. Barnes breaks down the top travel destinations for the season. He says many are heading over to South America, adding that Colombia has been a "real hot spot." Despite the hurricanes, the Caribbean has been able to remain a high-demand destination, says Barnes. Millennials want to spend their money on experiences. NPD just reported nearly 40% of shoppers will give the gift of an experience this holiday. Barnes says he sees no signs of this trend slowing down in the year ahead.
