The City of Philadelphia is closely monitoring its drinking water following a chemical spill that occurred on Friday night. The city said three different chemicals leaked into the Delaware River after a latex factory spill. At first, officials issued alerts to residents urging them to use bottled water and avoid the tap, but on Sunday they revised their assessment after conducting safety tests and ruling that the water is safe to drink, bathe in, and use for cooking. The city said it's confident the water is safe through the end of today, because the water currently in the taps was treated before the spill reached philadelphia.
