JEC explains why this bill is necessary and what impact it would have on the U.S. as a whole. Steve Demetriou is the Chairman and CEO of Jacobs Engineering Group. Demetriou explains that the infrastructure bill is well overdue. The train, road, and other systems are in need of major improvements. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, the U.S. needs to invest more than $4.5 trillion by 2025 just to bring our nation's infrastructure up to "adequate" standards. Passing the infrastructure bill could require initiatives like hiking the gas tax.
