Emily’s List is a three-decade old organization committed to electing pro-choice democrats to office. It is focused on recruitment, training, and finding staff. Stephanie Schriock, President at Emily's List, spoke with Cheddar's J.D. Durkin about the cultural movement empowering women. Schriock says Trump’s election victory jumpstarted the movement. So many women across the country were hoping for a Hilary Clinton presidency, and were left feeling devastated after the results were revealed. The Women’s March let women across the country know they were not alone. She also discussed the recent exposure of sexual harassment in the workplace. The bravery exhibited by the women who have stepped up to share their stories is part of the same movement, says Schriock. As a result, she expects to see more female leaders across the board.
