The company has faced scrutiny over Russian groups using its platform to meddle with the 2016 elections. In a written statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee just las week, Facebook said events from one Russia-linked troll group reached 300,000 Facebook users. Earlier this month, Facebook announced changes to its algorithm of its newsfeed to prioritize posts from friends, and family over media publishers. This sent shares down on January 12. Facebook stock has recently rebounded, and is up about 10 percent over the past six months.
