David Oyelowo Taps Into His Goofy Side for Dark Comedy "Gringo"
"Gringo" is a dark comedy starring David Oyelowo, Joel Edgerton, and Charlize Theron. Set in Mexico, the film centers around the fight for a revolutionary marijuana pill that causes problems for all involved.
Alyssa Julya Smith caught up with director Nash Edgerton, actor David Oyelowo, and some of the other stars of the film to find out what it was like making the dark comedy. Oyelowo, who is known for his dramatic performances, taps into his goofy side for this role.
The actor also discusses his instant chemistry with director Nash Edgerton and their collaboration on the role, including making Oyelowo's character of Nigerian descent. Edgerton also jokes that his mom made him cast his brother Joel in the film.
"Gringo" hits theaters on March 9.
