Tony Award-winner and Hamilton alum Daveed Diggs is back with a new project. “I have a film going to Sundance that I have been writing for the last decade with my best friend Rafael Casal, and it’s the opening movie at Sundance on Thursday,” he told Cheddar. “I’m so excited about that, that’s really where all my focus is.” The rapper and actor co-wrote, produced, and stars in “Blindspotting,” a comedy exploring gentrification in Oakland, CA. The film also stars his Hamilton co-star Jasmine Cephas Jones and Seinfeld’s Wayne Knight. Diggs originated the dual role of the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the Broadway smash “Hamilton”. He left the show in 2016 but hasn’t slowed down. He had a recurring arc on the third season of ABC’s “Black-ish”, worked in HBO’s “Tour de Pharmacy,” and played Mr. Browne in the feature film “Wonder.” For full interview [click here](https://cheddar.com/videos/venmo-rival-enlists-hamilton-star-for-ad-campaign).
