Legendary newsman Dan Rather is returning to a screen near you. He joined Cheddar CEO Jon Steinberg to speak about his new show, which recently premiered on The Young Turks’ YouTube channel. “It felt like the most natural thing in the world to me, because the best newscast in the world isn’t worth a damn if somebody’s not watching,” Rather said of his partnership with The Young Turks. The former “CBS Evening News” anchor says he was drawn to The Young Turks because of its ability to reach millennials and other young news consumers. As viewers increasingly abandon cable TV for streaming platforms, Rather said it was important for him to go digital to connect with that audience. “That’s where the audience is...let’s try to reach that audience where they are,” Rather said of the digital space. The half-hour program, called “The News w/ Dan Rather,” provides analysis and commentary. It airs Mondays at 5:30pm ET. Trump Administration Shutters Consumer Protection Agency

Vought directed the CFPB in a Saturday night email to stop work on proposed rules, to suspend the effective dates on any rules that were finalized but not yet effective, and to stop investigative work and not begin any new investigations. The agency has been a target of conservatives since President Barack Obama created it following the 2007-2008 financial crisis.
