The cannabis industry is rapidly maturing, attracting more mainstream attention and investment on the back of tremendous political strides in 2020. 

But more mainstream capital oftentimes spells less diversity. And in an industry built in the aftermath of punitive cannabis laws that have disproportionately impacted people of color, activists, lawmakers, and even celebrities like Jay-Z are working to build a more equitable cannabis industry from the ground up.
