Go90's new streaming series "Versus" follows the journey of two rival lacrosse players, Madison and Lauren, who are forced to play on the same team during a summer tournament. Alyssa Julya Smith sits down with two of the stars of the show, Brandon Larracuente and Maddie McCormick, to discuss the new series and why it's such an important show for a young digital audience. The series highlights the challenges the teen female athletes face on and off the field, and highlights the important life lessons girls learn through participation in sports. "Versus" is also part of Gatorade's new campaign, "Sisters in Sweat." This campaign aims to shed light on the growing problem of girls dropping out of sports (teen girls today drop out of sports at 1.5x the rate of boys by age 14), by showing that staying in sports throughout their teenage years has long-term, personal benefits. NASA to Crash Satellite Into Asteroid During 'DART' Mission
A NASA spacecraft that will deliberately crash into an asteroid is preparing to launch this week. The goal of the DART mission, or the Double Asteroid Redirection Test, is to hit the smaller of the two asteroids, Dimorphos, with the spacecraft at about 15,000 miles per hour and see how the impact changes the asteroid’s trajectory. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Returns to the Streets With the Help of Baby Yoda
After a pandemic pause where the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was closed to the public, the annual tradition is returning to the streets of New York with some new, yet familiar, faces. In addition to 10 marching bands, dozens of floats, 30 heritage balloons, and five other newcomers, one creature from a galaxy far, far away is joining the festivities, courtesy of toy manufacturer Funko. Coming in at 41 feet tall, 29 feet long, and 37 feet wide, the Funko Pop!-inspired Grogu balloon, from "The Mandalorian," will make his debut this year. Cheddar's Michelle Castillo reports.
Kyle Rittenhouse's Trial Sparks Self-Defense Debate
Protests across the country continued all weekend following the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse. A jury found the 18-year-old not guilty of all five felony charges.
