Stocks Jump After Mergers, Earnings and Ahead of Economic Data, Fed Decision
Stocks jumped in Monday's early session after a slew of earnings and other news events that saw the market attempt to make a positive finish to a rough month. Investors also braced for a rate decision from the Federal Reserve as well as the latest jobs report this week.
The U.S. economy grew at a 2.1% annual pace from April through June, extending its sturdy performance in the face of higher interest rates, the government said Thursday, leaving its previous estimate unchanged.
