Clint Eastwood’s son Scott will grace the big screen again in the spring of 2018. He’s joining the cast of “Pacific Rim Uprising,” the sequel to the 2013 movie in which sea creatures waged war against humankind.
The actor joined Cheddar to talk about the new movie and how the film industry is changing.
“The way we consume content now is on our phones, sometimes, or on our TVs,” he said. “It’s less about going to the theaters.”
But, he says, there are some instances in which streaming platforms just aren’t enough. Watching films that feature robots and grandiose monsters on a small screen is not the same, Eastwood told Cheddar.
“Those are the types of movies you want to see in theaters,” he said, adding that an iPhone doesn’t do this type of content “justice.”
In “Pacific Rim Uprising,” which opens in March, Eastwood stars alongside “Star Wars” actor John Boyega and Chinese actress Jing Tian. He’s also appeared in blockbusters like “The Fate of the Furious” and “Suicide Squad.”
