Three of those four — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley — were born in the U.S, while the fourth, Ilhan Omar, was born in Somalia but is a U.S. citizen. When CNN asked De Blasio, appearing from Waterloo, Iowa, if he planned on returning to the city, his initial response was that he’d decide within the hour. He did ultimately fly back after power was restored. The VP later said the detainees were being properly cared for and blamed Democrats for the crisis at the border.
