From a 'Black Panther' letdown to 'Red Table' return rumors, here's what's happening in entertainment.

Black Panther or Falcon

Anthony Mackie's career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has spanned nearly a decade following his first appearance as Falcon in the 2014 film The Winter Soldier, but if casting duties were up to him, he would have taken up a different role.

In an interview with Inverse, the actor revealed that he wanted the role of the Black Panther. "I had written [Marvel] letters," he said. "I was trying to find a way to make them make Black Panther. And I wanted to be Black Panther because growing up I f***ing loved Black Panther." Mackie ended up landing an interview with Marvel producer Nate Moore and the dynamic brother directors Joe and Anthony Russo, assuming he would be meeting about his letters and the role of T'Challa.

Alas, that role was not to be for him, but in the end, it still worked out. Mackie took up the shield of Captain American, landing roles in five Marvel films and even scored his own standalone TV series on Disney+ with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Grammy Date

The date of the 66th Grammy Awards is confirmed, so clear your calendar for February 4, 2024. The show is back in Los Angeles and will broadcast live from Crypto.com Arena. Fans of music's biggest night will have a few viewing options to pick from: the show will air as usual on CBS and will also stream on Paramount+.

Nominations will be announced on November 10. This month the Recording Academy made several changes to a number of major categories, including 'Best New Artist' and 'Record of the Year.' Each category will have a reduced number of nominees.

'Red Table' Return

Since Facebook's parent company Meta shut down one of its most popular shows in Red Table Talk, featuring Jada Pinkett-Smith, Willow Smith and Adrienne Banfield-Norris, fans have wondered if the polarzing, and sometimes messy, show would return.

In an interview with People, Pinkett-Smith said the show will definitely return but that they are searching for the right home. "We've had a couple platforms reach out to us," she said. "And we have some interesting avenues that we're looking at now. You know me, I'm always looking for the next innovative thing."
