Kimbal Musk is on a mission to base the American restaurant and food system on clean farming and eating. He is transforming food the same way his brother, Elon, is transforming electric cars and space travel.
Through initiatives like Next Door Eatery, Kimbal is launching restaurants that work with local farmers and producers to get fresh, local produce in front of all consumers. Kimbal has also prioritized farming in urban settings. Through The Kitchen Community, Musk has put learning gardens into hundreds of schools.
In New York, Kimbal has launched Square Roots, a Brooklyn-based urban farming campus. The project features 10 containers in the parking lot of the old Pfizer factory.
When asked about the future of travel to Mars, Kimbal Musk said he would like to be the first person to cook there.
