Career website Comparably just published its list of the best companies to work for in 2017. And one of the things that helps an organization make the list, says CEO Jason Nazar, is building a great company culture from “day one.” He told Cheddar that it’s something he’s prioritized at his own firm. “We actually didn’t start with our go-to-market strategy, or how we were going to raise millions of dollars in venture capital, which we eventually did,” Nazar said. “We started with what were our business’s values and what kind of environment we wanted to create.” One of the companies that stands out in terms of culture is cloud software giant Salesforce.com. “They had a great company culture across multiple dimensions. They were rated as a top workplace for women, a top workplace for diversity, a top workplace for managers.” Other names that made Comparably’s list of best companies: Google, HubSpot, Facebook, and Cornerstone OnDemand. Trump Highlights Partnership Investing $500 Billion in AI
President Donald Trump is talking up a joint venture investing up to $500 billion for infrastructure tied to artificial intelligence by a new partnership formed by OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank. The new entity, Stargate, will start building out data centers and the electricity generation needed for the further development of the fast-evolving AI in Texas, according to the White House. The initial investment is expected to be $100 billion and could reach five times that sum. While Trump has seized on similar announcements to show that his presidency is boosting the economy, there were already expectations of a massive buildout of data centers and electricity plants needed for the development of AI.
