NETFLIX INVESTS IN K-CONTENT

South Korean movies and TV shows — such as Squid Games, Parasite, and Carter to name a few — are becoming more popular to global audiences, and now Netflix is banking on viewers coming back for more. The streaming service is adding 34 new and returning South Korean titles in 2022, with the goal of becoming a "must-watch" destination for "K-content." Neftlix said 60 percent of all members watched a Korean title last year. “There’s truly a series, a film or an unscripted show for everyone, and we look forward to our Korean shows connecting to fans both overseas and at home," said Don Kang, vice president of content in Korea for Netflix, in a blog post.
