Green Giant Makes Record-Breaking Casserole With a Side of Awareness
Thanksgiving is one of the most iconic meals of the year. It's synonymous with turkey, but the sides are where the real magic happens.
Green bean casserole is one of the popular side options. In honor of its inaugural year in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Green Giant cooked up the largest serving of green bean casserole in history. It broke the record with a 637 pound serving.
Jordan Greenberg, vice president and General Manager of Green Giant, explains that the world record isn't just for show. The company wants to raise awareness of hunger issues faces Americans all across the country. Greenberg says the 637 pound side dish will be served to about 2,000 New Yorkers through City Meals on Wheels.
