The Making of "Mythbusters": "All of Them Are Real"
The newest season of Mythbusters premieres this week. The popular reality series is now on a new channel with two new hosts, Jon Lung and Brian Louden. Cheddar Anchors Kori Hale and Hope King get a sneak peek.
When asked about the one myth they would love to bust, Lung and Loudon said they would love to tackle a moment from the movie "The Martian." That's when the fictional astronaut character grows potatoes on Mars with a combination of Martian soil and fecal matter.
Lung and Louden became the new hosts after winning a reality competition called "Mythbusters: The Search." The duo says they are lifelong fans, and this season is still "Mythbusters," but with a new twist. Lung and Loudon say they hope to continue the legacy and give fans something for their kids to grow up with.
Discovery's longest-running series moved to the Science Channel this year. The new season premieres November 15th.
The United Nations COP26 climate talks are scheduled for October 31 to November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland. Heads of state will be joined by private sector leaders to once again discuss the shrinking window of time left to take action against global temperature rise. Barbara Humpton, CEO of focused technology company Siemens U.S., is also attending and spoke to Cheddar about what she hopes to see during the conference for both the public and private spheres. Voyager, Nanoracks, and Lockheed Martin are all teaming up to develop the first-ever free-flying commercial space station with room for a crew of four astronauts. The private companies are joining forces as part of NASA’s greater mission to retire the International Space Station by the year 2030. The low-earth orbit space station will be called "Starlab," and is planned to achieve operational capability by 2027.
