FEMA to Test Nationwide Emergency Alert System on Wednesday
FEMA and the FCC will hold a national test of the Wireless Emergency Alert system on Wednesday around 2:20 p.m. ET.
The goal is to make sure the system is working properly in the event of a national emergency.
Most cell phone users who have their phones on in a serviceable area should receive a text message that says “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” The message will also be available in Spanish.
Some pediatricians in the U.K. and Australia, where some schools have banned the drinks, have warned of the drinks' potential to contribute to anxiety, digestive issues and even heart problems.
Rescue teams raced into Vermont on Monday after heavy rain drenched parts of Northeast, washing out roads, forcing evacuations and halting some airline travel. One person was killed in New York as she was trying to leave her home.
