“Technology is neutral. It depends how you use it.” That’s according to New Age author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra, who says the solution to combating rampant tech addiction is to be more mindful and wise about time management. “Schedule time for technology and then only focus on that. And then schedule time for meditation, relationships, exercise, [and] rest.” The issue has come into the spotlight amid reports that dependence on smartphones and other gadgets has led to a lack of concentration among children and increased depression for those who feel left out when they see their friends’ Facebook feeds. But Chopra says you can reduce the effects of “FOMO” if you focus on the present. “Pay attention to what’s right in front of you,” he said. “The most important time in your life is right now. The most important people in your life are those right in front of you...I don’t look at my schedule ahead of time. I just look at it in the morning when I wake up, and I go with the flow.” For full interview [click here](https://cheddar.com/videos/deepak-chopra-on-combating-your-addiction-to-technology).
